I started in the travel industry in 1985, after many years in the medical field, with my last position being a medical staff coordinator. Working in that capacity, I got my first introduction to the fast-paced and detail-oriented work of scheduling flights, hotels, meetings, conferences, etc.
My first position in travel was on the accounting side, with airline-regulated and corporate-mandated reporting, as well as airline and hotel contract negotiations on behalf of the agency. Garnering all facets of my previous positions, I focused my attention on corporate travel, along with some specific destination specialties for leisure travel (Hawaii and Scotland, two of my favorite places).
In the ensuing years, I was an agency owner, and then worked for many years as a Corporate Consultant and V.P. of Operations ~ giving me even more experience, as well as the confidence to venture out as an Independent Corporate Consultant & Destination Specialist. I love assisting my business travelers with all the nuances of their travel, whether domestic or international. With ever-growing technologies, and more readily available access to the Internet, I am able to be there to assist my clients with all of their travel needs 24/7.
Although I have only been with The Travel Collaborative for a short time, I am so very impressed by the staff and all the travel consultants. They have proven to be true professionals ~ committed to sharing their knowledge and supporting each other. I truly believe I have found a home with TTC.
